Management of a case of breathlessness in emergency room - A case report

Abstract
In a busy emergency room many patients are coming with breathlessness because of a variety of aetiology including respiratory system, cardiovascular system, central nervous system, metabolic, trauma, foreign body in airway etc. Nearly most of them can be managed in emergency room with rationale approach, but some cases require further approach with advanced investigation and further workup to stabilise the patient.
In this case report, we are mentioning in detail about management of a case of breathlessness presented to our emergency room with breathlessness, decreased chest expansion on left side of chest and decreased air entry on base of left lower chest required intercostal drainage and diagnosed having malignant hilar mass. After stabilisation he was sent to oncology department for further management.
